IRAN, Qajars. Nasir al-Din Shah, AH 1264-1313 / AD 1848-1896. Order of the Lion and the Sun (Nishân-e-Schir-o-Khorschid) (Silver and Enamel, 78 mm, 53.00 g), Breast Star, 2nd Class, Civil Division. By Halley, Paris, 1870-1872. Seven-pointed Breast Star with silver brillanté, repercé, seven green enameled rays and five-pointed stars in each angle; central enameled medaillon with resting lion in front of rising sun (emblems of Imperial Iran). Rev. HALLEY / G•MONTPENSIER / PALAIS ROYAL. Pin with silver and manufacturer's hallmarks. Very rare. An excellent example of best jeweler's quality. A tiny crack in the medaillon as made, and with very minor scratches on the pin, otherwise, good extremely fine.
